(Our Plea To The SBC! )
June 14, 1999
Welcome to Our FIRST On The Road
adventure!
Well, to begin, Vicki
and I decided to take the Web-Mobile out for the first time. Mind this, we had not
received all of our equipment (missing a few key components) and our Video Camera was
"dropped" and then the NEW wireless mike system rejected our plea to "Come
on, ya gotta work!!' .... but the troops (as in two of us) prevailed; Vicki zipped to her
house and grabbed her video camera and zipped back (glad she did not live in North
Dakota!) and away we went.. into The Southern Baptist
Convention!
First, the convention and its great
and blessed people were gracious (imagine, even AFTER this wild and crazy guy with pony
tail is preaching at the very front doors of the GA Dome about "What the SBC is NOT doing and what
ARE they gonna do about our kids...") and full of love and excitement. They gave us
Press Passes...(again, Vicki On The Job!). Great endeavors in Christ will surely follow
this blessed event. And the elections and agenda were met with great and spontaneous
response from the Messengers sent to participate as representatives from the USA far and
wide!
Yet, we have had to stick to our main reason
and cause for going in the first place and stay TOUGH: "What
Is The SBC going to ACTUALLY DO for our hurting children!"
Instead of a LOUD and LONG cry for America's
Hurting, some of whom are now adults in dire straits, we found the answer to be Diversity
and Sending a message to
the Entertainment industry (some what like that Boycott of
Mickey Mouse LTD??) .
(PS: On a schedule of 7 pages of
program material, events and more, NOT ONE item pointed, motivated, explained, told,
informed or allowed anyone to know about what SBC was going to do, had to say, or was
prepared to deliver concerning Youth, Violence, or what has been occurring for 15 years on
and in America's schools, streets, cities or countryside! -- Donald Duck Syndrome?)
So, in keeping with our Cause for Existence, we
shall now offer some video (mind you, not as clear as we would like, but genuine and
powerful!). Using an older model camcorder, the video came out GREAT, but my subsequent
RUSH to get online precluded both high resolution and editing.. but, I am sure the message
and the facts will surely reach the spot! PS: If you would like to receive copies of the
great video, write Rock!
1) To begin, we
will go to the end! Here Vic and I are wrapping things up. We are in the WB and the
subject of press and publicity comes up. I just thought this SHOULD begin, rather than end
the WM SBC Adventure!!

thankful to JESUS that Vicki came aboard!
I am thankful to JESUS for being there ALL
the time and putting up with ME (man, I am talking about ALL THE TIME!) !
Also, HEY!! Buster, Annette and Barbara, I
LOVE YOU GUYS AND THANK, THANK, THANK YOU!!! (these folks matched me dime for dime, drove
all the way from NC many times to help and are coming this week end to deliver a much
needed Roof Mount AC that they skinned there way into purchasing and gave up many days of
job time to see that we had what we needed to be able to have the Web Mobile!! In fact,
Buster and Family were the ones whom donated the WM in the FIRST place!).
And to Tony
Davis for performing the AWESOME and FREE art work that makes the WM STAND out! And,
not to miss Vicki once more, for drawing and
painting Jesus and the Disciples !!
And Lynn McCullers for coming out to help!
And to Office Depot for giving us SUCH a
great deal on one of our new Computers!
And, Donna Kimmel for Designing, Printing, FOLDING
and SHIPPING THOUSANDS of tri-page brochures!!
And, last but not least, MY LOVELY and
supportive (should say SUPPORTING!! For every dime I have made, borrowed or begged has
gone into our Ministry, I must owe her 25% of every dollar SHE has earned cause I am
always borrowing from her!) wife and partner, Denise and my newest daughter, whom is yet
three and operates a Pentium computer, Juliana!
AND to each and EVERY one of you, Lisa
Chapo, Richard Wong, Anne, Jim Sollers, Pastor Earl Campbell, Laura Burton (my attorney) and all of you
whom browse, write, visit and support our ministry by participating GOD BLESS YOU ALL! I
MEAN THIS!!
BTW: In the Dome we were greeted by DARKNESS
and had to wing it... WE DESPERATELY require a better camera and LIGHT PACK!!
But, we have, after all, just begun and have ALL of the other equipment! So, who can DONATE a GOOD Camera
and lighting sys??
