April 20, 2000 ------Life is not fair but God is good-----Please pray for the persecuted church in Egypt--- RE: Church Siege in 'Ezbet El Akbat' (Coptic Village) , Egypt: Here they go again, like it is not enough what the government of Egypt did in Alkosheh in early January when 21 innocent people were martyred while the police looked on. They are denying another group of Copts, Citizens of Egypt, the right to worship. Of course this is both discrimination and persecution, and of course Blessed are the people of Ezbet El Akbat( which literally means 'Village of Copts') because they are being persecuted for the sake of Christ, but what will they do. What will we do. There is only one thing to do and that is to defend our human rights. I applaud them for standing up for their rights and ask all of us outside Egypt to expose the government of Egypt for religious discrimination and violation of human rights. If that means reporting to the UN and "Clinton," let it be. And shame on you Mr. Mubarak once more time for persecuting the non-Moslem citizens of Egypt. And to you all we say: "And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." (Revelation 6:7-11). Let him who understands hear what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. May our Lord increase our faith and give us the strength to endure. Write to your representative and senator. Egyptian unity can not and should not be achieved on the backs of the defenseless Copts." And he (The Lord) said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground." (Genesis 4:10). Australian Coptic Association - Sydney - 26/3/00 Dear Christian Brothers and Sisters, After several years of demanding the most basic of Human Rights for our persecuted Coptic Christian minority in Egypt, the "Coptic Rights Group" around the world have decided to take further action in promoting our case. Thousands of Coptic Christians worldwide travel with "Egypt Air" displaying great loyalty to Egypt. The Egyptian Government owns Egypt Air and the majority of the passengers are Christians (90%). WHY DO WE TARGET EGYPT AIR? 1. Why are passengers forced to listen and to view Koranic verses and teachings when Christians make up 90% of passengers? Why doesn't Egypt Air show some Christian viewing on their trips to cater for the 90% Christian Customers? 2. We ask Egypt Air: what is the percentage of Coptic Christians compared to Muslims employed by the government run airline? 3. How many Copts have been employed in the last five years? We ask Egypt Air to respect its passengers and to air both Muslim and Christian programs and to treat its passengers with respect and equality. If Egypt Air fails to change its policies, a boycott will be put in place. ++++++++++++++++++++++ + + + thecopts@copts.com + + + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + + + + To subscribe or unsubscribe, visit + + http://www.listserve.com/thecopts/ + + Our Web Address is: http://www.netcom.com/~us_copts/ + + Also visit http://www.copts.com Thanks again for your prayers and actions.
