The
American Dream part two: WBNETV
What about those whom tend the cash registers of our convenience stores; stock the shelves of our super markets; watch our children in day care centers; care for our mothers and fathers in those lost worlds of retirement care centers! Do these people not warrant gratitude, respect, and decent pay because they have chosen to lead simple lives? Must all Americans whom choose not to be Rich and Famous suffer the inequities of poor wages and a lack of proper medical care? Those telling you the problem is the "Free Give-Aways" should read further! One must witness that standard of living: a single mother's home where this AMERICAN has several children and works several jobs to feed, cloth and juggle the bills before they speak of facts! Their facts are based on rhetoric and self aggrandizing reasons. (proof further down!) You know, folks, when the fact of inequity is pointed out to those whom make their living sowing misinformation, the response is always the same--place blame on those whose voices are denied equal access to main stream America--yes, strangle the voice by heaping savagery upon those less fortunate; place blame and focus on them that is causing all your woes, Mr. & Mrs. America! Like that Atlanta youth who lived in a crack house at eight, saw his mother prostituting her self for drugs, and wound up living on some mean streets before killing someone by the age of 13, well, you know what they were thinking- "Let's use this to enhance our position. . ." Press Position, i.e.- "Heck, he should have grabbed hold of his boot straps and made something of himself . . . See so an so? He/she did it-- yea, lived the American dream-- stop crime by taking theses rights away and you will cure the problem! This kid should be burned at the stake! Rise Americans and place your blame!" Like to say that kid never dreamed! That he had the "boot straps" in the first place! Like his mother was a Christian whom dedicated her life to her children? The true horror of this story is the fact that not only did a hard working father lose his life--his wife and children left in dire straits and future poverty--but nothing was accomplished to end future events occurring along the same lines! The 13 year old now faces justice (which he should receive) and the
politicians have milked the situation for their own agenda: keeping you in the "blame
stage"; keeping you on the "Rope-A-Dope" while pushing for further
"laws and acts" that will, ultimately, destroy more "rights" under our
great Constitution! If actions are said to speak louder than words, can words combined with actions produce results--and if results are the creative force behind success, can altering the word DREAM to GOAL, substituting the SUBSTANTIAL VALUES of GOAL for the ELUSIVE CHASM of DREAM, revive the hopes of those whose only desire is a piece of the action? What I am hearing is that there is a dream I can have and it will produce prosperity, love and a great, morally uplifting life and legacy to hand down to those whom will be our country's future! That all I have to do is dream and it will be! That all I have to do is look at that there basketball star and dream and I will be! Yet, I cannot help to think of all of them there young folks whom lack a moral household and live in a world of drugs and guns. Of all those yougins' whom dream of becoming youngguns! Talking about dreams and success, we Americans relish success, success in our homes; success in our careers and business; in our love life; yes, even in our children! Yes, our children are important! So important that more youth are exposed to drugs, crime, abuse and violence then at anytime in the history of this great nation! Another recent AJC article made reference to another indicator of just how severe this dreaming stuff is. 85% of those imprisoned are convicted of crimes that, in one way or another, involved drugs! So, what up? Listen to the Rock, Biblical Prophesy at your door step! Well, enough for this months Voice of Rock's Youth. But remember, if we truly desired an end to crime, drug abuse, use and smuggling, poverty and heart break -- remember those single moms raising their children!--we could end it! If only 25% of the rhetoric and accusation and investigation and the political endeavors of our "leaders" were focused on innovation instead of dissinformation, our children could, once more, walk this Great Nation's streets as free, goal setting Americans---with real dreams! But, there is always hope as long as voices sing! As long as voices sing, the Bill of Rights shall hold true.
