Young People and Troubling Times:

Greetings and blessings. My name is Rock Scarfone and I care about you and
your children.

Many young people are experiencing difficulties today. It seems that the
combined emphasis on commercialization of the dark side of life and the
increased disenfranchisement of youth have combined to offer up a new series
of catch phrases and problems.

A young person's home life, the fact that they did or did not receive love,
or whether or not the family is one of separation is not the only cause of
"problems", "rebellion" or the desire to "be someone they are not".

I know you are aware that our nations youth have been forced to grow up too
fast. That society demands that our kids live and grow in an increasingly
competitive, negative world. One promoting that "only the winners" have a
"good life".

I believe in the SECOND PLACERS. That all of our youth should be praised..
even if only on EFFORT!

Movies, TV, Radio and just about every other form of "entertainment" plays
life up in a manner that leads to our children desiring to be someone or
something they were never blessed to be.

Though the fact that more young people are becoming millionaires by their
25th birthday may be correct, the demand to "be like Mike and Jane" and
dress a certain way and act a certain way to be accepted has led to stress
in both the young persons life and their family.

Friends suddenly appear with the answers we seem not to have, or rather our
children seem  to think we do not have...

Though times have changed the events remain the same ....is untrue.

While many adults forget the difficulties they may have had, or the way they
dealt with them, the fact is that this new and expanding, complicated world
has offered limited answer to our questions of why..

And now for my answer to the many requests for help:

I have been blessed with a gift for working with young people; the ability
to reach out and into their thoughts and hearts and with the discernment to
provide encouragement and motivation. To teach that the gift one has been
anointed with may never reach the stage of success if it is overburdened
with the responsibilities of  life one will inherit by not perusing that
"GOD GIVEN GIFT">>>

The key is to discover what a young person THINKS they want out of life.
Whether it is to "party", or "their friends" or their lack of participation
in what would be "good" for them.

There are many ways one can turn the faults and "developing" faults and
ideas and thoughts of their young person into fruitful and commanding
action. Action that will lead to both success and accomplishment. Which both
lead to a better future and life.

God is real, He Inspires us and provides the opportunity. But, if we sit
upon a hill and do not take action, we often discover ourselves at 40 and 50
and 60 wondering "why"...

Thinking "what could I have done different"...

I must say that I pray often that each and every mother and/or father that
writes me would have the opportunity to have their young person hear my
testimony, my enthusiasm, my thoughts and education of so many years in all
the environments and situations that our youth are placed today.

If nothing else, they all would be greatly blessed.

For the story is not one of sudden blessings or changes of success.. but a
continual growth and therefore the spark of change we desire of them...

 You MUST expect changes and rebellion and indifference in your child who is
a part of this society that has not the answers but all the suggestions..

BUT!!

It is HOW you deal with these situations.. it is not the REBUKING but the
encouragement that you provide...

The difficulty of our world has played to prominence in the very household
of our own. Yet, I believe it is this same world that provides the momentum
and opportunity to persevere and produce the very young men and woman our
Lord would be happy to see.

I work in a unique manner. I apply all I am and have to assisting only
several youth at a time. I take them in and use the internet and computers
and serious work and fun to teach and reach them. They are offered the
opportunity to learn and grow at their own pace. No set "program" is
provided, rather a host of unique opportunities are presented and then the
natural GIFT they possess will be forthcoming.
