The History Of LSYF/YOA and the Introduction of eStoremenu/MenuMerchant Program.
LSYF began in 1994 as a one on one Christian Ministry devoted to assisting young men and woman find God, them selves, and the learning through practice of various skills designed to re-make them into self-assured, competitive and responsible individuals.
Having given up his business enterprises and moved from Lofts and a Penthouse, the founder of LSYF utilized his own funds and energies to minister to young people from a 1967 mobile home and by traveling by Motorcycle to various portions of Atlanta where he preached God and Personal Growth.
In 1995, new and unique "program-themes" were developed to further empower young people:
Radio Broadcasting, Wood Work, Contracting, and Bonsai were some of the many programs where skills were taught:
1995: LSYF purchased air time and operated a Christian Talk Show where young people participated. All costs were covered by the founder of LSYF, LSYF did not except donations.
1996: LSYF performed a remodeling of a commercial enterprise utilizing youth who were paid to work 5 hours a day and then "got to hang out " several hours a day where Christian Principles were learned. This endeavor lasted a summer and included all aspects of carpentry, plumbing, product purchasing, design and more. LSYF did not except any donations or labor/design costs for the job other than 1000.00 for the expenses of gas, lunch and other minor actual costs. The youth were paid 5 dollars an hour from the business owner. The costs of transportation, training, and other incidentals were covered by the founder of LSYF
1997: LSYF was officially incorporated as a non profit entity and built and operated a youth center that was unlike any before. The LSYF center included a woodwork shop, bonsai and pond shop, eco-systems, music and computer area, and more. The actual costs of leasing the building, renovating, and equipping this youth center was entirely covered by the founder of LSYF [he even sold his "second" family car to cover costs of materials].
1998: The youth center became a costly enterprise, what was learned was that it was impossible to maintain a fixed location without the support of the community. In addition, LSYF had never sought "donations", rather, LSYF felt that the funds that were required to operate such a Christian program should be generated by the WORKS of the Christian program. And then, after prayer, the founder of LSYF had this vision of an internet program.
Waking at 3 am, he went to a 386 computer hooked to the internet through AOL. He had used this computer for the young people. They played games on it and received e mails and browsed the web. But the actual use or up time was never more then a few hours a week. But on this early morning, he was sent to the AOL page building program and within several weeks had built a web site and won several awards. Soon, YouthOfAmerica was invented and it began moving along.
1998-1999: YouthOfAmerica published over 300 young poets, 25 story tellers, built over 100 interactive programs and reached out through Bible Study and Internet Career Development to over 1500 youth.
With Games Site, Music Site, Online-Church Site, News and Reporting Site, Youth Site, and over 30,000 other pages, LSYF/YOA became part OF the internet.
Viewing the program and its potential, and the need for funding to build and improve it, as well as share it freely, LSYF wrote many people explaining the powerful aspects of the program. Included were many respected and powerful Christian and secular Men and Woman, and many wrote back, including President Clinton. But their were no takers to this program and he decided that he would simply continue to assist others and bare the costs by other means.
1999-2000: The ministry grew on the internet. The founder of LSYF/YOA worked 19 hours a day, 7 days a week from a 1967 mobile home with plastic tarp over it to keep the rain out. He began paying to bring young people TO Atlanta were he ministered to, fed, clothed, and trained them. He even built additions to the mobile home and used the 1967 motor home to house these young people [and his family].
Working the program 7 days a week, he soon saw the power of the internet as a means to an end, including the end of loneliness and poverty among those less fortunate.
With costs spiraling, YOA instituted a Church-Ministry Hosting Program, and, by hosting ministries, LSYF/YOA had the means to teach web design, marketing and other powerful aspects of success. The fees involved in the hosting covered the actual costs of the hosting of those Church and Ministries as well as the costs of the LSYF/YOA hosting.
In other words, all parties broke even and, additionally, over 300 FREE Youth Sites were funded.
2000-2001: With ministries and churches using the services of LSYF/YOA, LSYF/YOA was able to continue to develop and implement more programs. Through additional funding from the Founder of LSYF and his family and friends, additional equipment was purchased. Video and Audio equipment, and a 1966 motor home, were loaned to LSYF/YOA. LSYF/YOA rebuilt and refurbished the motor home with loans from other family members and launched greater training programs.
In February of 2001, the wife of the founder of LSYF/YOA lost her father. He left her a 1963 Chevy Impala. With the sale of this automobile, a 1960' era garage on the family property was turned into a ministry building with internet studio and living quarters.
Now, it has reached 2002 and LSYF/YOA continues to do as it as done, assisting many at a high cost of time and funding. LSYF/YOA understands that its future resides on innovation. The eStoreMenu Program is just that Innovation Required for Success.
By allowing young people and other ministries to participate, we then build the foundation of further opportunity as we assist others. LSYF/YOA will continue to serve the people in need. LSYF/YOA will continue to operate as a non-profit organization, but with a solid picture of FUNDING THROUGH PROGRESS!
Any funds developed through the MenuMerchant/eStoreMenu program will go to YOUTH and THOSE IN NEED. In fact, LSYF/YOA has a priority of offering the management of eStoreMenu projects to YOUNG PEOPLE and those disenfranchised.
The eStoreMenu program supplies the fodder for thought and action. The eStoreMenu program allows many companies and organizations inexpensive means to improve themselves. And, through this program, LSYF/YOA can perform free to low-cost services to those without the means to improve their positions. Such as the $350.00 full portal, design and hosting for Mark1617.com and the Woman owned and operated "Trader Js" full eStore w/Design, Training and Software!
So, when you look at our latest program, know that YOU may get involved and YOU may seek our services, and the initial costs of over $50,000 for the servers, software and programs utilized for eStoreMenu/MenuMerchant were invested with personal funding of those whom would help YOU!
