WHAT IS THE GOAL OF A GREAT NATION OF DEMOCRACY?
Does not a Democracy of a nation whose principles are founded in equality, freedom and the pursuit of happiness represent the ultimate hopes of man and woman?
And if our hopes are to live life in equality, freedom and happiness, why does poverty and inequity continue to rule over so many citizens in this great democracy of dreams– even after 200 years of trial and tribulation based upon 7000 years of recorded humanity?
In our Great Nation of Democratic Social rule, the fundamental principles of equality and justice seem to reside in some sort of dream; a purported gift to all believers who grasp its elusive fringes: Not Constitution, Bill of Rights, or God, Country, Family and Goals , but a dream whose ever present proving history may have demonstrated its very failure–producing few winners against an overwhelming abundance of near misses!
So, the ultimate question I believe I am asking: Does the American Dream truly exist? Or is it just another word-spin delivered in quest of motivating those whom will never realize their happiness to invest in ours?
Now, I know I’m gonna receive some flack about this one! You know what I’m talking about! You got it, from some of those very minds and mouth-pieces who spend their time sowing dissension in order to harvest their personal crop of that there green pasture of happy dreams–as in bucks, dough, moula, yen, marks, dinero, franks, so on an soon . . . .
But, I want you to think about something for a second . . . can you imagine having to dream about happiness, equality, and freedom?
Hey, don’t think I am kidding! I am heading towards Biblical Prophesy with this one!
Yea, ’cause I know many of you have had your share of that dream–the one you are shovel-fed the minute you voice your concern about being on the short end of the bounty; hovering a pay check over bankruptcy!
Yes, and some of you recall it ’cause it was pounded into your minds the moment you asked for social justice or inexpensive child care or assistance with your youth who have some how substituted the call of President Kennedy to ask what they could do for their country for the call of the wild?
And what about you, your the retired American who recalls that dream by the meager Social Security check you subsist on . .. what happened to your dreams?
Can anyone place blame on 70% of our mothers and fathers and grandparents? Can you say, with all honesty and truth, that their plight is because of their failure to work hard? That they did not dream enough?
Yes, my friends, their sacrifices continue . . .
Oh! Lest we forget, what about YOU, that silent majority single mother who is raising your children alone–while holding down a low paying job which hardly pays your basic needs, let alone any dreams YOU may have!
Have you not heard it is your fault?
Listen to the Rock , this is what I am talking about! Even with so many American dreams becoming nightmares, the vocal minority in the press and in the government (both state and federal) continue to believe the answer to the disparity of your dreams fruition is to place blame: that you did not dream enough!!!
Well Folks, I believe the answer to these questions may be so simple, its a wonder why it has not been discovered by all of those great minds and mouth-pieces whom spend much of their time sowing dissension in order to harvest their personal crop of that there green pasture of happiness as in bucks; dough; moole; marks; yen; dinero; francs; et al . . .
If actions are said to speak louder than words, can words combined with actions produce results–and if results are the creative force behind success, can altering the word DREAM to GOAL, substituting the SUBSTANTIAL VALUES of GOAL for the ELUSIVE CHASM of DREAM deliver those very wishes and hopes of your dreams for your children?
The American Dream part two:
The American Dream has continued to exist as a word entrenched in the belief that all souls born or emigrating within the boundaries of this “silver slipper” of a nation have equal access to a wealth of opportunity; opportunity abounding in a nation whose main economic predicament is the consumption of goods and whose moral principles seem to bask in a lime-light of self-reliance — as if to say the American Dream is the American answer to everything that ails Americans!
What about those whom tend the cash registers of our convenience stores; stock the shelves of our super markets; watch our children in day care centers; care for our mothers and fathers in those lost worlds of retirement care centers!
Do these people not warrant gratitude, respect, and decent pay because they have chosen to lead simple lives?
Must all Americans whom choose not to be Rich and Famous suffer the inequities of poor wages and a lack of proper medical care?
Those telling you the problem is the “Free Give-Aways” should read further!
One must witness that standard of living: a single mother’s home where this AMERICAN has several children and works several jobs to feed, cloth and juggle the bills before they speak of facts! Their facts are based on rhetoric and self aggrandizing reasons. (proof further down!)
You know, folks, when the fact of inequity is pointed out to those whom make their living sowing misinformation, the response is always the same–place blame on those whose voices are denied equal access to main stream America–yes, strangle the voice by heaping savagery upon those less fortunate; place blame and focus on them that is causing all your woes, Mr. & Mrs. America!
Like that Atlanta youth who lived in a crack house at eight, saw his mother prostituting her self for drugs, and wound up living on some mean streets before killing someone by the age of 13, well, you know what they were thinking-
“Let’s use this to enhance our position. . .” Press Position, i.e.- “Heck, he should have grabbed hold of his boot straps and made something of himself . . . See so an so? He/she did it– yea, lived the American dream– stop crime by taking theses rights away and you will cure the problem! This kid should be burned at the stake! Rise Americans and place your blame!”
Like to say that kid never dreamed! That he had the “boot straps” in the first place! Like his mother was a Christian whom dedicated her life to her children?
The true horror of this story is the fact that not only did a hard working father lose his life–his wife and children left in dire straits and future poverty–but nothing was accomplished to end future events occurring along the same lines!
The 13 year old now faces justice (which he should receive) and the politicians have milked the situation for their own agenda: keeping you in the “blame stage”; keeping you on the “Rope-A-Dope” while pushing for further “laws and acts” that will, ultimately, destroy more “rights” under our great Constitution!
If actions are said to speak louder than words, can words combined with actions produce results–and if results are the creative force behind success, can altering the word DREAM to GOAL, substituting the SUBSTANTIAL VALUES of GOAL for the ELUSIVE CHASM of DREAM, revive the hopes of those whose only desire is a piece of the action?
What I am hearing is that there is a dream I can have and it will produce prosperity, love and a great, morally uplifting life and legacy to hand down to those whom will be our country’s future!
That all I have to do is dream and it will be!
That all I have to do is look at that there basketball star and dream and I will be!
Yet, I cannot help to think of all of them there young folks whom lack a moral household and live in a world of drugs and guns.
Of all those Yougins’ whom dream of becoming young guns!
Talking about dreams and success, we Americans relish success, success in our homes; success in our careers and business; in our love life; yes, even in our children!
Yes, our children are important! So important that more youth are exposed to drugs, crime, abuse and violence then at anytime in the history of this great nation!
Another recent AJC article made reference to another indicator of just how severe this dreaming stuff is. 85% of those imprisoned are convicted of crimes that, in one way or another, involved drugs!
So, what up? Listen to the Rock, Biblical Prophesy at your door step!
Well, enough for this months Voice of Rock’s Youth. But remember, if we truly desired an end to crime, drug abuse, use and smuggling, poverty and heart break — remember those single moms raising their children!–we could end it!
If only 25% of the rhetoric and accusation and investigation and the political endeavors of our “leaders” were focused on innovation instead of disinformation, our children could, once more, walk this Great Nation’s streets as free, goal setting Americans—with real dreams!
But, there is always hope as long as voices sing!
As long as voices sing, the Bill of Rights shall hold true.
Freedom of speech allows us to air our views, no matter the content.
Freedom of Speech exposes that sacred domain of private thought to public interpretation.
Ultimately, Freedom of speech permits free men and women to engage in fruitful dialogue.
Yet, there are those whom use freedom of speech to confuse, alter and blind you from the truth! Though it is their right to say what ever they like, it is Your Right to counter and prevail!
